Horses and deer have always seemed very similar to me. Of course I don't have personal relationships with deer the way I do with horses, but their expressions and their sense of watchfulness have always seemed identical--ears up and alert, eyes wide open. There is something in that connection when I'm around either horses or deer that makes me feel more present, more connected to their world. This piece is currently at an exhibition at Sue Greenwood Fine Art, "Animalia" . The show focuses on artists' interpretations of animals in our lives.
